What is the Sirius downlight designed for?
Sirius is a recessed high output downlight with a 210mm cutout, designed for commercial applications where higher light output is needed from a single fitting. It is available in a standard 24W version or a high output 42W version, delivering up to 4418 lumens, which suits larger open areas such as offices, retail floors, or commercial circulation spaces. Its CRI above 90 Ra ensures good colour rendering for these environments.
Should I specify the 24W or 42W version of Sirius?
Sirius is available in 24W, producing 2511 to 2525 lumens, or 42W, producing 4401 to 4418 lumens, with a choice of 3000K or 4000K colour temperature either way. Larger commercial spaces or areas with higher ceilings generally benefit from the 42W version to maintain adequate light levels, while 24W may be sufficient for smaller rooms. Checking the required lux level for the space is the best way to decide between the two. Our lighting design team can offer this as a complementary service.
What is the rated performance and lifetime of Sirius?
Sirius delivers an efficacy of around 105 lm/W with a 40 degree beam angle and an L70 B50 rated lifetime of 100,000 hours. It carries a 5 year warranty and an SDCM of 3 or less, supporting consistent colour output across multiple fittings on a large installation. It is rated IP20, suiting standard indoor commercial ceilings.
What finish options are available for Sirius?
Sirius is available with either a white or black bezel finish, allowing it to be matched to the ceiling colour or design scheme of the space. This is useful in commercial fit-outs where the bezel finish needs to coordinate with other ceiling-mounted equipment. The finish choice is independent of the wattage and colour temperature options, giving flexibility when specifying.
What if my existing cutout doesn't match Sirius's 210mm size?
A cutout extension ring accessory is available for Sirius, adjusting the aperture up to around 250 to 270mm where an existing ceiling hole is larger than the standard 210mm cutout. This is a practical option on refurbishment projects replacing an older, larger fitting. Please always check the existing cutout on site before ordering.
